They most certainly do have delicious beef ribs!!!
Not certain but you have to figure at least half pound of meat per person being conservative; on the upper end 1 lb per person. I would also either they are hired to serve or you have a serve team for better portion control.
The sausage is a mix of beed and pork!!
Definetly one of the best places to get outstanding bar b que. Staff cool and hard working. Owner rolls up his sleeves when needed. One would be pleased if that place was the only place to get bbq because theirs is all that is needed!
Yes order ahead
They should.
Not crazy about their side dishes but the brisket, ribs and sausage is wonderful
Amos, currently we sell half chickens for $6.49 and leg 1/4s for $2.25
I don't care for it. Barbecue isn't hot. Food was a little warm. Not worth paying for what you get. 1st time and last time for sure.
Beans where under cooked crunchy an the portion size was like for a kid instead for adult just not very tasteful ! Love the sauce
I am from Michigan. I was somewhat disappointed, thinking BBQ in Texas would be much better. I won't be recommending this place to anyone.
Customer service was great! The brisket, sausage, and Turkey was delicious! The potatoe salad and the creamy corn were average.
If you’re landing at the San Antonio airport Today. Skip that fast food and get real food from the bbq station. It’s close, fast and the staff is the bomb!
Pretty good food. Get there early because it runs out quick.
Went for a late lunch and they were out of mac & cheese! Shame on me for not deciding on bbq sooner. It was our first time here after reading reviews. A bit overhyped, but maybe we came on an off day/time. Definitely tasty though.🤤
This place was as fantastic as ever. I haven't been there in probably 8 years, but the food was outstanding. I had forgotten how good the beans were. I missed the pot of beans in the dining room, but given the current circumstances, it is understandable.
Awesome food 👍, great customer service, portions that can fill Paul Bunyan. The BBQ dissolves in your mouth. This restaurant is a gem in San Antonio, family run. When you arrive you instantly become family. Best BBQ in Texas.
Nice staff!! Wish my food was hot!! Just landed in Texas and really wanted some fresh hot BBQ!!
Super nice people and smoked chicken leg was delicious! Brisket was moist but I still think Houston has better BBQ. Sides were okay. Not a big fan of pickles, so I didn't like the potato salad too much, but Mac and cheese were delicious. They kept the place clean and kept table wiped down etc.
Meat was amazing. We did not like the potato salad, beans, or coleslaw. They had no flavor. The only reason for 4 stars is the good barbeque.
Got in town late. First time here. This is the closest BBQ joint with good review so we're have it a try. Made it half hour before closing and they still have plenty of meats.Staffs are friendly and it smells wonderful here. We ordered the brisket, ribs and sausage (too bad they were out of chicken quarters. The meats are tender, moist and full of flavors. This is BBQ with a more savory note different than the sweeter BBQ I am used to but still great.
Great BBQ the brisket was tender and the beef ribs very tasty the service exelent and fair priced
Everytime we wanted to eat here they were all out of food or the line was too long, due to COVID we had a chance to finally eat here and it was worth the drive...the peach cobbler was also a seller...
Great food, friendly staff, old school feel. The brisket is tender and smokey and the loaded baked potato was amazing. Reasonably priced too! Also, they have high chairs and booster seats (two of each, I believe). Word of warning: your clothes and hair will stink like BBQ smoke if you spend more than 10 minutes inside, so beware! :)
The cashier was super nice and the portions were pretty reasonable along with a decent price. I loved the creamed corn to go along with my two meat plate of ribs and brisket. Nice smoke ring on the meat and homemade beverages to quench your thirst. I was tempted to give them a five star but the sauce killed me to be honest. I wish they had more selection of sauces because the sauce they have is almost like a marinade and has a very high vinegar content. All in all you should at least try this place, I enjoyed myself there.
BBQ was good. Beans were undercooked and the coleslaw was weird.
Absolutely amazing. I've been here three times now. Every type of meat tastes great, and so do the sides. The barbecue sauce itself is delicious. Highly recommend to everyone!
Just left the airport and hungry for some que’ the staff was incredibly awesome. Really hooked me up and I had some out of the norm requests. It’s also delicious! Highly recommend.
So I would have submitted a picture but I devoured it too fast. I was told to order from here and to order the combination plate. So I ordered the brisket, pulled pork with double fries and a leg quarter, ever bit of it was delicious, everything from the bread to the meats. This is by far the best barbecue I have had since residing in San Antonio, TX I have been here since 2005 and this will be my to go place for lunch. Friendly and helpful staff and the best barbecue by far!
First time here. The food was quite tasty.. I was pleasantly surprised with the price. This beats having to always go out of town for some REAL TEXAS BAR.B.Q ! The staff was alright.. was particularly impressed with them. The restaurant wasn't very busy and they had a line which moved FAIRLY quickly. Overall experience was worth another visit eventually.
Glad to find a place that serves BEEF ribs! They were pretty good. The rib plate came with 4 and I could easily have eaten more, they were tasty. The coleslaw was the way I like, not overly sweet. The potato salad did not seem to have mustard so it was just ok to me. Rustic decor inside, see photos. My beef rib plate with two sides and tea was $13.73Nothing really stood out to me so I would rate a three. I would go back if I were in the area again.Revisit a few months later, raised rating to 4.Ribs were very good this visit!
Great food! Good people a must try.
Great place to eat! Dry ribs were very good! BBQ brisket very good! Place used to be an old gas station. Seems to be family owned which is a plus in my opinion.
The smoked meats are amazing! Staff are super nice and very helpful, will even give you a small sample if you are uncertain about which meat to get. Sides could be a little bigger, but were good, especially the creamed corn. Sauce at the tables was good also, but could stand to be a little thicker so it sticks to the meat better. All in all a great place!
Stopped here for lunch with a friend. The place was packed. I chose the two meat plate with brisket and sausage. It came with two sides. I had the pinto beans (free 2nds) and coleslaw. The brisket just melted in my mouth. It was that good. The portion size was plenty for lunch (and I'm a big guy) and at a decent price. Service was good...quick (the line moved quickly). The staff was also friendly. I'll be back.
I love trying bbq restaurants and this one did not disappoint! As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with the smokey wood smell. The restaurant’s menu has by the pound options, sandwiches (the buns are normal bread slices, not the original hamburger buns), and plates with one or two meats. FYI, take cash if you have some, they offer free sides when you purchase a meal and a drink! The food was great and had a live music session going on too! The restaurant has a small and cozy feel to it. Tasty lemonade and sweet tea. Recommended the brisket and chicken. Will definitely go back to try the beef and pork ribs! Also, this is the first bbq restaurant i’ve visited that offers fries as a side!
This is one of the best (top three) places for BBQ in San Antonio! If only it weren't so far away from where we live, we'd eat here more often. The brisket is perfect, and the beef ribs are, too.
Great brisket. Pork loin tender. Really busy at lunch so expect a little wait for parking and seating inside.
Very good all around! Walk-in and dine in even during pandemic. As of June 18, 2020.
I have not been here in a very long time. It still tastes amazing. The Lean brisket and Sausage does not disappoint. The side of close slaw was a tad tiny but tasted well. And the fries were hot, fresh and skin on with the perfect amount of salt. I love coming here but keep it as an occasional treat so i don't take them for granted.

Very tasty and tender brisket! And super easy access off 410. Clean and traditional dining area. And I truly loved the jalapeno mac and cheese. I hope they have not next time I come.
Delicious barbecue! Would add a picture, but I already ate it, is just that good!
Food is ok not bad little spot. If they mess your order expect 21 questions
I pass this place every time I go to Fort Sam Cemetery and I can't believe I've never stopped in. I did today. The beef ribs were amazing. I've been craving ribs and I definitely got my fix. Very tender and juicy. A must try!!
Some of the best brisket I have had and that includes many of the top 10 joints in Texas according to Texas Monthly. Highly recommend the pinto beans. Often have live music in the back room for an added treat. Add this place to your list if good bbq is a priority. They have 2 kinds of bbq sauce, but if you need sauce on your bbq, there is something wrong with your bbq. None needed here. Served on butcher paper as it should be.
Been a customer since the 92 when they opened. The quality has been consistent across the years. The brisket is tender and flavorful and they have the best potato salad in town! Highly recommended when in the mood for great BBQ.
One of the best BBQ in San Antonio. I love Beef Ribs. The customer service is nice. I hope I will come and eat Beef Ribs again.
Haven't been here in 20ish years, now I remember why.$13 for two slices of brisket and maybe a quarter of a sausage link... neither had any real flavor.Gravy was a little thick on the corn probably to hide the over cooked corn.Baked potato also had hard spots from being over cooked.
Excellent every time. Run by really nice people. Sausage and Pork Ribs are awesome, both star of the show is the Brisket. Don't miss the fresh coleslaw and made to order fries. Jalapeno mac and cheese in photo.
Ordered for my daughter's birthday !!Great food and service ,will definitely be back for some of there turkey and jalapeno macaroni and cheese.!!!! 🤤🤤
Great tasting BBQ ,best place I have found. Great portions, great prices. Beef ribs are amazing.
What a hidden little gem. This place had some of the best BBQ that we ate in Texas. Highly recommend a visit here.
Very delicious barbeque every single time! Friendly staff, with a homey atmosphere, this place sure delivers with it's food!
Ran out of all beef brisket, ribs and a lot more. The sausage and pork loin were delicious and everything else was fantastic.
prices are great, but the food? I got the pulled brisket sandwich, i took 2 bites and all i tasted was pepper & it was super greasy. immediately after i threw up & had a tummy ache all evening.
This is the best barbecue in San Antonio, bar none. I have been going here my entire life (quite literally as my mom was actually eating here the day she went in to labor!) and I keep coming back. Nowhere else compares. The potato salad is the best in the world, and the brisket is always perfect. I now am only in town infrequently since leaving SA for college, but I eat here every single time I am in town and used to eat here at least every two weeks growing up. Friendly people, great atmosphere, and even better food. Y’all are missing out if you aren’t eating here!
Very good food! Great atmosphere!!
